The Michigan City Housing Authority (MCHA) has announced that its Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) waiting list will open from August 4 to August 8, 2025. This is an important opportunity for individuals and families in need of housing assistance to apply for the HCV program, also known as Section 8.
Key Dates:
- Opening Date: August 4, 2025, at 12:00 a.m. (midnight)
- Closing Date: August 8, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
All applications must be submitted here during this timeframe.
What You’ll Need to Apply
To complete your application, be prepared to provide:
- A valid mailing address
- Names, birthdates, and Social Security Numbers for all household members
- Your household’s gross income
Lottery-Based Selection
Due to limited funding, only 500 applicants will be selected for the waiting list through a random lottery system. If your application is selected, you will be notified no later than October 31, 2025.
Make sure to keep a copy of your confirmation or any documentation you receive after submitting your application.
